Interview

INTRO  TO  INTERVIEW  1.
1) I'm going to interview Kyle Phael who is an admission advisor at F.I.D.M. He is an expert at fashion and is surrounded by fashion designers everyday. He too has a love for fashion, and is somewhat a designer, so he knows what he his doing.

2) I have 2 other questions in mind, such as, what techniques are important for a fashion designer to have? And Why is it important to have a background of what fashion is before you can become a "fashion designer?"

INTERVIEW  1  REFLECTION.
1) The most important thing I learned from my interview was that fashion comes in so many ways, but its up to the designer to figure out which ways work best for them to get their art out in the world.

INTERVIEW 2
I had interviewed the store manager, Andrea Dick, at Alfred Angelo Bridal.
1) How did you get into this field?
2) What made you decide that you wanted to be in this field?
3) What do you usually do on a daily basis?
4) What are some pros and cons about your field?
5) What do you most enjoy about your job?

INTERVIEW  2  REFLECTION
There are many aspects that can go in being a store manager and not all of it is boring or bossing around people but actually working the the customers to make sure that they are completely taken care of and to make sure that their one special day [wedding day] goes perfectly for the bride.

Math

Presentation

ROUGH   DRAFT.
  1. The students will be learning about fashion design, the history, and the background info on one fashion designer. They will also learn what is the importance of being a fashion designer and what is their actual job.

  1. There are a few things I will be going over with the class.

a)     introduce my essential question and explain how and why I chose it for my topic.
b)    brief history on fashion design itself, how it came about, when it really started, why  it started, first recorded designer, etc.
c)     talk about a fashion designer. Example can be Coco Chanel, talk about her life, how she got into fashion design, and her motives.
d)    I’m also going to be talking about what a fashion designer does and how much they get  paid, and their job outlook basically.

  1. A way that I will check for people’s understanding is by having everyone ask questions when I’m done speaking. This will help everyone get a clearer view on the topic. Another way is for people to ask questions after each section I go through or just raise their hand while I’m talking.

  1. Some materials or resources that I will bring are some hand drawn designs, possibly a poster board with designers on it and some of their work to show as an example. Another thing I can do is bring some articles or pictures for people to look at and pass around while I talk.

  1. In the end, I’ll just give a brief conclusion to wrap things up and basically summarize what topics I had already gone over.

RESPONSE  TO  5  MINUTE  PRESENTATION.
1) I think what stood out the most in my presentation was the fact that I spoke clearly and the fact that i was able to provide some brief yet good information that is a good intro to my topic.

2) Believe it or not, the hardest part for me was actually showing everyone my own designs. I've never showed anyone my designs before, so I was definitely a bit iffy on how to go about it.

Research Semester 1

My topic is Fashion Design.

I chose this topic because I love fashion. Fashion is my life and I've been making and designing clothes since I was little. So it's been something that I've always wanted to do.

I hope to show people that there is more than just the "product" of the clothes, it's all the work that was put into it to design and make them.

Research Semester 2

Science Fair

Service Learning

1) so far i have done some research and have had meetings with a few business/store owners. i have an internship at Carrie Amber Intimates and i basically help with organizing and some of the trade show "production" and i work on Adobe Illustrator. this program definitely takes ALOT of time to get use to.

2) well since it was REALLY hard to find someone and i had such a struggle to get someone who would let mee work with them (Ogden knows what im talking about) so i start this friday from 2:30-5:30 and i will be working every monday, wednesday, and friday from 2:30-5:30

3) i have learned that from one simple product that is made there is about 1 million things to do before the product is ready for mass marketing. so much work is put into creating something that people usually take for granted and now i have an appreciation for that one particular product that i would have never thought about before.
