2hr rough draft

Sponge: I'm going to demonstrate networking by having a junior and senior partner up and do something that is unknown as of right now.

Intro: what is most important  in becoming a successful fashion designer? To be successful is when a person is able to accomplish their goal be it small or big, in the end it led to victory. A fashion designer is someone who is capable of illustrating a work of art not only on a sheet of paper but through the art of fabrics. I chose fashion design as my topic because that's ultimately what I want as my career and I enjoy designing because not only is it a hobby for me but I'm passionate about it. Plan for the day: currently unknown..there's too many ideas I want to incorporate as of right now and I don't know how to separate them in a way that they all tie in with each other.

Foundation: fashion has been around for centuries but not really known or seen as a form of art then. In today's society, fashion is what drives every new yorker down to times square, or every southern Californian to  Los Angeles it's everywhere and all around us and the way we embrace this form of art really helps us understand more about it <----that's all I got so far..I know..fail -.-

Activity 1: draw/design have everyone make something from a list of about 5 different items

Activity 2: patterns/colors/fabrics have them use these to helps the create their designs

Activity 3: advertise product make posters that advertise their product from the previous activities

Conclusion: draw/design, my service learning fashion illustration (book), my product is my dress because I used the draw/design answer to create it.

Independent component task 2

I worked on my dress for 2 hours 2 days a week starting from february 19 to april 28 for a grand total of 21 days :D
“I, Gabrielle Murphy, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.”
i made my prom dress for my independent task. i added silver and black beading to it and i added draping to the bottom of the dress and i took it in on the sides.
the draping on the dress took the absolute longest to do (aside from the beading) because you have to go into each individual column and hand sew, meaning, you get the needle and "zig-zag" through the fabric until mid thigh. the beading was also very difficult to do because you have to hand sew each individual bead onto the dress but only on the top silk fabric.
this helped me answer my eq because it shows how much creativity is needed to make a dress and your ability to sew is essential as well.

Creative Expressions Idea

Gabrielle Murphy
Fashion Design
What is most important in becoming a successful fashion designer??

I will make a dress (prom dress) as my idea. It ties in perfectly with my eq and actually answers one if my answers because one of my answers for my eq is that a person needs to have more creativity than a business aspect to be considered a fashion designer so designing and making my prom dress is creative and works with my eq.

Independent component task 2

For my second independent component task I will be making a couple sketches of evening gowns and I will actually be making my prom dress as well. I will verify by making a log sheet and taking pictures during the process, plus my parents are my witnesses that I am making my prom dress. The business aspect relates to this because I have to do specific measurements of the dress to calculate how much fabric will be used and to figure out the price of it as well but try to stay in a budget. The creative aspect relates because of the sketching and using your creative and imaginative side to pull together a classic yet unique dress.
